Gel On The Roots Trick  --  To get more root lift on both wet and dry hair, you can put some gel in the palm of one left hand* then pick it up on the bottom of the fingers of the your right hand (being careful not to get it on the sides of your fingers) the slightly tugging your hair away from you scalp with the left hand fingers* apply the gel to the root area one section at a time, rubbing in small circles on the scalp. As  the  fingers of your right hand come away from the scalp squeeze them together pulling lightly thus lifting the hair straight away from the scalp. The resulting root-lift gives you added volume at the root. Release the pressure and repeat the process in another area.

You have accomplished 2 things 1- root-lift volume and 2- no gel on the ends  which are free to move about naturally. The ends of you fine hair still have their natural movement while the root-lift gives you the volume.

* The left hand is going to do "double duty here" 1-the gel is in the center of the palm of the left hand 2- this leaves the ginger tips of the left hand gel-free so you can squeeze you hair between the finger tips and the heal of the hand without getting gel on the ends of the hair
